Youth Insearch is about empowering young people to take control of their lives.
Youth Insearch programs occur over a weekend.
They are a place where young people can talk about their deeply felt concerns that are affecting their lives and learn ways to handle them. Topics discussed include communication, trust, self esteem, parent/adolescent relationships, drug and alcohol abuse, bullying and sexual assault.
The programs are run by Youth Leaders who have been through the program, so they understand and can relate to other young people.
After the weekend program the young people attend Support Groups where they discuss how things are going since the program. This is an opportunity to set new goals and directions for their lives with those that attended the Program.
Support Adults accompany the young people to the weekend program and assist with the Support Groups. They can be , youth workers, school teachers, counsellors, nurses, volunteers, etc.
