The Role of a Youth Leader
Youth Leader's provide support and understanding on a peer level over the weekend program and at follow up support groups. They play an integral role in the facilitation of the Youth Insearch weekend program. They are mentors and role models to the young people.

A Youth Leader is a person who has experienced and participated in the weekend programs and has chosen to change any negative behaviour to become a positive role model in society.

The Role of an Adult Leader
The Adult Leader ensures that the Youth Leaders feel comfortable and confident in their roles. An Adult Leader will undergo further training to assist them in the facilitation of hassle sessions and the role of Team Leader.

Importance of Leader's Training
Leader's Training is an integral part of the overall success of the Youth Insearch Program.

Leaders Training consists of four stages, three of which are theory based and the fourth is practical training at the weekend program facilitating sessions. The purpose of Leaders Training is to prepare the Trainee Leaders for the responsibilities and challenges of being a Leader.

Throughout the stages of training all Trainees are provided with the fundamental knowledge needed to successfully facilitate program sessions and roles. Leaders Training has a focus on building self esteem and confidence which impacts on not only their success at weekend programs but throughout the rest of their lives.

The Role of the Program Council
The Program Council is responsible for decisions regarding the Youth Insearch Program, the discipline of Leaders and selection of Trainee Leaders.

The Program Council is made up of nine Youth Leaders aged between 12 – 18 years, plus two Consultants. The Consultants must be over the age of 18 and be an Accredited Leader with 3 or more years experience in the program.

The Program Council are elected annually by Youth Leaders at the Summit held in January. They are a separate entity to the Youth Insearch Board and any changes made to the Youth Insearch Program can only be made by the Youth Insearch Program Council. The purpose of this is because the Youth Insearch Program was designed by young people for young people.
