History

Youth Insearch was founded by Ron Barr in 1985. He was the Youth Development Counsellor for the Community Centre at Riverstone, situated in North West Sydney.

He believed individual counselling to be slow and sought a solution to benefit more young people.

After consultation and input from the young people he was counselling, Youth Insearch emerged with a peer focus: young people supporting young people.

The current program remains basically unchanged and its success is recognised world wide.
