Programs

The program runs from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon with follow up support groups after the weekend program. Young people who need more intensive counselling will be referred to an appropriate resource in their local area.

At the weekend program

Youth Insearch is a peer to peer program so most of the administration and facilitation is done by young leaders who have been through an extreme training program. The more intense sessions of the program are facilitated by professional adults.

Young people use the resources of other young people at a peer level to address unresolved issues and seek positive alternatives.

After the weekend program

To ensure that young people have a continuum after the weekend program their support person will ensure they are able to attend a support group. The support group meets weekly then fortnightly for the period of time necessary. The support groups are solution and goal focused.

Where young people require professional one to one counselling or intevention this is also organised by their support person.
