2011 Simpson Desert Multimarathon and Youth Insearch

Youth Insearch is proud to be a chosen beneficiary for the Simpson Desert Multimarathon. Day 4 has been allocated to Youth Insearch and we encourage you to support this event. The Simpson Desert Multimarathon will be the ultimate test of human (and superhuman) endurance. For 15 gruelling days runners will endeavour to run 650km across the Simpson Desert. It has moe than 1000 sand dunes and river crossings and runners will experience temperatures in excess of 50 degrees day after day.

The mighty Simpson will also display dust  storms and torrential rain, just to add to the already harsh experience. Support Crew will leave from the Sydney Botanical Gardens on September 9th at 8.30am. The race will commence at Lamberts Crossing Centre on September 15th and finish at the Birdsville Hotel on September 30th.

The idea of the event is that 15 marathons will be run in 15 days and each day the event will raise money for 15 mainstream children's charities. (Each charity is allocated a specific day - Youth Insearch has been allocated Day 4)

We ask everyone to show the support this initative deserves. With expansion as the aim of Youth Insearch going forward, it is imperative that we take every opportunityto support this fund raising effort. The demand for recent programs has been so high that as many as 50 young people have been turned away from a single program. Youth Insearch estimates that over 600 young people are turned away each year, simply due to the fact that there is not enough funding to add more programs to the schedule. This is a great way to help raise funds for extra programs that need to be added to help our young people.
